1.                      What is FRC NADRA?


FRC stands for Family Registration Certificate. It may also be called Family Tree document as it contains the information about family members of a family.

 

Usually it is one pager document but in some case it may be more than one pager document depending on the number of family members in a family.

 

2.    Issuing Authority?

 

FRC is issued by National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), a department in Pakistan, headed by Chairman and working under the Command and control of Ministry of Interior.

 

3.  Information included in FRC

 

Certain information is included in an FRC like particulars of applicant. Besides, Name, photo, Identity number, Date of Birth, Father Name, Mother Name, relation of each family member with applicant is also mentioned. Click here to get FRC sample 

 

4.  Types of FRC 

 

Usually, FRC is of two types (1) FRC with Spouse and children (2) FRC with parents and siblings. Depending on need, you may apply for the required type of FRC. Another type of FRC is FRC by Adoption but same is not commonly used. 

 

FRC with Spouse and children, 

This type of FRC contains the detail of applicant, his/her spouse and children. No detail of brother/sisters or parents of applicant is mentioned in this type of FRC.

 

FRC with Parents and Siblings 

This type of FRC contains the detail of applicant, his/her brothers & sisters and parents. No detail of applicant’s spouse or children is mentioned in this type of FRC.

 

 

5.  Uses of FRC.

 

There are several uses of an FRC which include but not limited to:-

  1. For obtaining Succession Certificate / Letter of Administration from NADRA.
  2. For Obtaining Succession Certificate from Civil Court.
  3. For Obtaining Heirship Certificate/ Declaratory Decree from Civil Court.
  4. For obtaining Guardianship Certificate from Court.  
  5. For registration of Power of Attorney executed by legal heirs of deceased authorizing any other legal heir to dispose of the property of deceased.
  6. For transfer of Pension of deceased
  7. For transfer of arms license of deceased
  8. For issuance of Visa.
  9. Various other purposes.

  

6.    Eligibility Criteria for FRC

 

Anyone who is citizen of Pakistan, aged 18 years or above and holder of ID card can apply for issuance of FRC for his own family. Male & Female both may apply subject to fulfillment of other requirements.


Any other person out of family cannot apply for FRC.

 

7.  Application Process

 

You can apply for FRC by two ways (1) In person Application (2) Online application.

 

In person Application

In this process, applicant has to visit NADRA office personally and apply for FRC.  If all the requirements are met, black & white coloured FRC will be issued at the spot without any delay.

 

Online application. 

In this process, the applicant needs not to visit the NADRA’s office personally. They just need to visit https://id.nadra.gov.pk/ upload necessary documents, pay fee online and about within 24 hours, they may receive a coloured copy of FRC on their registered email address.

 

8.  Importance of Keeping FRC Updated

 

You should always keep the record FRC record updated. If you don’t do, you or the other family members may have to face number of severe complications /hardships on number of occasion. Few complications can be understood by the following examples.

 

Example No.1

If a husband has divorced his wife, he should immediately cause the name of his wife removed from FRC. If the husband does not do in his lifetime, then after his death, his wife may claim share in inheritance of her ex-husband/deceased. Though, acceptance of claim is not so much easy but in rare cases it may become possible.

 

Example No.2

If in reality, there are 6 members in a family, which includes three brothers, two sisters, a father and a mother. But due to mistake or any other reason, the name of one brother is not included in FRC, in this case, such omitted brother may have to face problem in getting the share in inheritance of his parents in case of their death. So such brother should immediately apply for modification to avoid future complications.

What is FRC NADRA used for?

An FRC can be used to prove the numbers of family members in a family and their relationship with each other. An FRC can be produced in Embassy regarding immigration matters and in Court regarding inheritance matters.

Who can apply for FRC?

Any one from a family, age more 18 years or above, holds ID Card can apply for FRC for his own family's FRC and not for any other family's FRC.

Is FRC a coloured document or black & white?

If applied online, the applicant will receive coloured FRC. However, if applied by visiting NADRA office personally, the applicant will receive black & white FRC will be issued.

Can you apply for duplicate FRC in case you have lost FRC?

No, you cannot apply for a duplicate FRC if you have lost your FRC. Every single time, you have to apply for fresh FRC.

Is FRC can be renewed?

No, an FRC cannot be renewed.

Is FRC mandatory for Visa?

No, FRC is not a mandatory document for all types of visas for all the embassies. However, some embassies specifically demands FRC for processing visa application. An FRC can be said as supporting document for a Visa.

What is Family Registration Certificate for turkey visa?

No Family Registration Certificate is issued for Turkish Visa separately. You don’t need to tell your purpose of issuance of FRC. Once an FRC is issued it can be used for all the purposes where it is acceptable.

Is FRC and B-Form same?

No, FRC and B Form are not same documents. B Form is designed for only children under 18 years of age however, in an FRC not only the minors but major persons of a family are also included.

What is FRC meaning in Urdu?

If you want to write the word FRC in urdu, you can write either ایف۔ آر۔سی or can write its full form i.e فیملی رجسٹریشن سرٹیفکیٹ .
